Not everybody is good at identifying ideas, especially imaginative ones. Well, something that we can do is learn from history and have a general idea of what kind of logos are good and what kind are bad. For instance, should you read my report, I included a list of a few of the top logos in history. On the other hand, this doesn’t really assist you in deciding what to avoid. Let’s quickly go there.
For the most part, you want to avoid logos that are in poor taste especially for a Business Logo Design. Any logo that could easily be seen as offending a group of persons should be avoided at all costs. That means any logo with a sexual connotation should be avoided…especially if it’s a graphic portrayal. Logos that are very complex in design should also be avoided as they won’t render well at small size.
One of the worst logos ever designed was the one for Rising Sun Sushi. I don’t understand what the Logo Graphic designer was going for nonetheless it is painfully clear upon first glance that the logo, intentional or not, represents an extremely perverse act. I’ll leave it at this. The Arlington Pediatric Center was going for the design of a grownup patting a child on the head, but the way the logo was rendered, well, it looks like another terrible perverse act. Again, what were these folks thinking. Kostelecke Uzeniny (don’t ask me what it means) appears to be a man eating a sausage link. Well, it looks more like something different and another example of a logo gone bad.
Point is, if you can look at your logo and come up with a joke for it, then you may be better off scrapping it. If you wish to hire some guys who’ll design a killer logo for you, look at Logo Design Ideas. Today’s software for logo design is incredibly comprehensive. Additionally it is one heck of a learning curve. Sketching something on a piece of paper is one thing. Transforming it into a masterpiece of design using Photo-shop or various other software is not as easy as it looks. Years go into perfecting technique. For that reason, few companies actually create their own logos, at least not entirely on their own. Issue is, who do you trust for something extremely important?
